Introduction to Reading Music
1 hour, €20 (excl. PayPal booking fee)
Ideal for adults who want to learn how to read music.
At the end of this course you will:
- Know how to read music notation using treble and bass clefs
- Have greater awareness of rhythm and pulse
- Know where the notes are on the piano*

Improve your Theory Results

Suitable if you are teaching theory from beginners to approximately grade 5 or interested in teaching theory.
At the end of this course you will:
- Know the frequently encountered mistakes in written theory exams*
- Know why they are made and how to avoid them
- Build a more secure foundation for senior grades

Introduction to Writing Harmony
2 hours, €40 (excl. PayPal booking fee)
Suitable if you want an introduction to writing harmony for four voices (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) and are taking theory exams grade 6+. Please note: the ability to read music, a knowledge of keys and key signatures, and an understanding of chords are required.
At the end of this course you will:
- Know 4 types of cadences
- Understand voice-leading rules
- Understand Roman numerals and chords
- Be introduced to figured bass

Transposition

Suitable for musicians looking to enhance their musicianship skills, for 2nd- and 3rd-level students learning score reading, and for teachers of intermediate to senior grades (theory and practical). Please note: the ability to read music and a knowledge of keys and key signatures are required.

- Written and concert pitch
- How to transpose melodies and harmonies
- The importance of intervals
- Alto and tenor clefs
